Made in Russia. Includes: cardboard playing board (25.2 x 20 in. [63 x 49 cm]), 120 chips with letters (1.5 x 1.5 in. [38 x 38 mm]), playing cube. For 2 to 4 players, ages 5 and up.
At first glance, this game seems the same as an old classic, Erudite, also known as Scrabble. Each chip features a letter with a value; the goal is to use the most valuable letters to write the longest words on the board and win the most points. However, there are differences that make this version less complex and more enjoyable. The larger alphabet chips are more manageable; the board is unmarked save for the grid -- so there are no bonuses to count up. One can play by the rules or adapt the game to the players' whims (for example, spelling words backwards). For children, the game is naturally educational, without being overt. For adults, it's that -- and more fun!
